Abstract
The amount of contracture ocurring in a full-thickness burn of the neck usually depends on several circumstances.

The looseness of the cervical skin, as well as the range of mobility of neck (particulany in flexion)may favor wound contraction during healing.

Early splinting may help to minimize contracture. Usually, however, the extent of the deformity varies with the amount of skin destroyed and the adequacy of the early skin grafting.

The deformity may range from a thin tight web to a massive dense fibrosis, with contracture pulling the chin downward and fixing it near the sternum.

Authors experienced a Zovickian flap in a case of severe contracture of neck, and found some of the things concerning this flap.
